Welcoming the sunrise at Mui Dien

PHU YEN – The space at Mui Dien is quite early in the morning, the scenery is suitable for tourists who like to enjoy the wild look.

Dien Cape, also known as Dai Lanh Cape , belongs to Phuoc Tan village, Hoa Tam commune, Dong Hoa town. This is one of the two first sunrise spots on the mainland in Vietnam, along with Mui Doi of Khanh Hoa province.

As a person living in Tuy Hoa city, many times welcoming the dawn at Mui Dien, Mr. Nguyen Thi, 30, said that the dawn in this area in each season has its own beauty. In order to take good pictures, he monitors the weather in advance, choosing dry days to feel the most beautiful sunrise in the early morning.

Dien Cape is located about 35 km southeast of Tuy Hoa city. This is one of the tourist attractions in Vietnam that was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national scenic relic in 2008.

According to Mr. Thi, if you want to see the sunrise at Mui Dien, you have to get up early around 4:30 – 5:00. From Tuy Hoa city, visitors travel by motorbike or car for about 30 minutes to Dong Hoa town to be able to go to Mui Dien to admire the scenery.

In the summer, when the sky is clear, the dawn will be clear, and you can clearly observe the sunrise from the sea. In winter, the time of dawn is often cloudy and foggy. When the sun shines through the thin clouds, it will form rays of sunlight shining on Dai Lanh lighthouse, creating a blurred and visually appealing feeling.

Dai Lanh lighthouse was built by the French in the late 19th century to help guide ships operating at sea. This is the farthest lighthouse to the east on the mainland of Vietnam. The tower is gray, cylindrical, 26 m above the floor and 110 m above sea level, able to transmit light signals up to 27 nautical miles.

According to Mr. Thi, to move from Tuy Hoa city to Mui Dien, first-timers can use Google Maps. However, he recommends to be careful because this application often only guides along Highway 1, a bit dangerous for people traveling by motorbike.

“Recently, National Highway 1 through Phu Yen has many peeling spots, riders must also be careful with potholes and potholes to avoid accidents,” Thi said. He thinks that you should follow the route along the Phuoc Tan – Bai Nga beach, then go to Highway 29 because this route has fewer cars.

Upon arrival, visitors buy a ticket to visit 20,000 VND per person and walk about 1 km to the lighthouse. The path has already been graded, so it is easy to move. If visitors use drones, they will see Bai Mon, located close to Mui Dien, combined together to form a miniature map of Vietnam .

The said that it is advisable to go to Mui Dien in winter because fewer visitors will see the wild space, bearing the characteristics of Phu Yen. After watching the sunrise, visitors can move to Vung Ro Bay to enjoy seafood.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Mui Dien is the place where Phu Yen province holds a flag-raising ceremony, attracting a large number of people to participate.
