Phu Quoc travel combo on the occasion of April 30 costs less than 200$
Although the holiday season 30/4-1/5 is approaching, the demand for outings of Vietnamese tourists is still high. In the midst of this, some parties offer surprisingly cheap prices.
Phu Quoc continues to become a hot spot during the holiday season 30/4-1/5. A week before the holiday, the price of tickets and rooms in Phu Quoc is “increasing by the hour”. For comparison, on some online booking apps, air tickets alone were sold for up to 5.2 million VND/person/round trip (similar flight route).
Travel combo rescue
It is not difficult to find posts “rescuing travel combos”, “discharge of cheap airline tickets”, and “discharge of rooms” on social networks at the moment. Only about 2 weeks ago, information related to “sold-out plane tickets”, and “fire rooms” was rampant in the media. But close to the day, a paradox is happening when a series of tour operators and travel combo agents have to go online to call for help.
According to a survey by Zing , travel combos, hotel rooms or air tickets to major destinations on the occasion of April 30 to May 1 are all having “super bargain” prices. However, this is not the retail price but the “discharge” price between companies. In general, when it reaches the customer, the price has increased but it is still good.
Specifically, on an online ticket booking channel, the price for the Superior Twin Bay View room class of Four Points By Sheratons Danang (check-in 30/4, check out 2/5) is about 14 million VND/2 nights, which is the average price. 7 million VND/night on average.
With air tickets, Zing found some great prices such as Hanoi – Phu Quoc (round trip), flying Vietjet Air, going 1-3/5, nice time, only 3.9 million VND/person. Or the route Hanoi – Quy Nhon, fly Bamboo Airways, go 1-3/5, fly now is quite nice, the price is only 4.5 million VND/person. Compared to the amount you have to pay if you buy it yourself, this price is about 2 million VND cheaper.
In general, if you search hard online and choose the right reputable selling channel, it is not difficult for visitors to find a travel combo or cheap flight tickets for the upcoming holiday.
Why cheap?
Prices are cheap for companies and travel agents. However, customers who book directly by themselves are still high. That makes many customers suspect that the seller has signs of fraud. In fact, cheap scams still exist.
But in this case, there are many companies and travel agents that are discharging losses after having embraced a series of airline tickets and hotel rooms. The term “series of tickets” can be understood as companies that book a large number of tickets in a period, for example, April 30-1/5. They will be sold by the airline for a cheap price, but in case they are not sold, the company will have to lose everything.

“The combo of 3.9 million VND to Phu Quoc as above is the discharge price before the series expires. If you find the airfare during that period, visitors will have to spend 6-7 million VND/person/round trip, which is more expensive. The peculiarity of people holding a series of airline tickets is that they must sell out and enter the customer’s name about 4 days before the flight date.
For example, if I hold a ticket from May 1 to May 4, about April 26, I have to enter the customer’s name. Today is April 22, which means there are only 4 days left to expire, so it must be pushed early. Before, companies like mine made enough profit, now just need to sell the rest to recover capital,” shared Ms. Hoang Tuyet, director of Top One Travel.
In addition, according to Ms. Tuyet, the above combo price is accompanied by a 3-star resort, so the price will be lower than the usual 4- and 5-star combos. However, in general, this is a very good price compared to the combo in the same segment that was sold 2 weeks ago.
Currently, many companies that are holding hotel rooms in the past are now struggling to push losses. In fact, hotel room rates have not increased as much as airfares. However, the airfare is too high, so if you don’t hug the whole series of air tickets in advance, it is difficult for the company to push the room. Because if they only hold the room, they have to sell air tickets like the price on the system.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Director of Best Price travel company, confirmed that he had sold the travel combo 30/4-1/5 before. As of now, they don’t even need to worry about letting go of their losses. The selling price at this time will be based on the discounted price for businesses, so the profit may be less than the selling price of the “hug” combos available.
“Actually, many guests still wait for the last minute to book a room even though the price is quite good right now because the parties start to discharge their losses. However, there will be cases like this happening. When the parties discharge the goods, the price drops sharply but demand also increased strongly. Some parties may hug and wait until the last minute to push the price again. In general, hugging the series is a story of eating a lot,” Mr. Tu shared.

According to Mr. Tu, there is currently a situation of “shortage is still lacking, the excess is still excess”. For example, hotel A will have room funds for early booking, and prepayment to companies B, C, and D. Another fund will be reserved for OTA channels. When company E (have not purchased funds in advance) asks for a room, the hotel will report that the room is full. Meanwhile, companies B, C, and D have inventory but don’t know who to sell, and have to discharge losses. Therefore, there is a situation of “lack is still a shortage, the excess is still excess”.
A representative of a travel business added: “The loss of loss cannot be said in advance, large or small companies will also encounter it. My experience is to discharge the hotel first and then release the plane ticket later because the customer has booked a guest. The hotel has to buy a plane ticket.
There will be difficult schedules that are too easy to lead to overbooking of tickets. For example, a company hugs a series of airline tickets after the ceremony. However, in fact, after the ceremony, people’s demand for going out has also decreased.”
Thus, customers can consider good prices at this time when companies are losing money. You can also wait more but there is no guarantee that the price of travel combos and air tickets will not be pushed up again because airlines are still increasing flights during the holiday season.
