THUA THIEN – HUE In the rainy season, Chuon Lagoon does not operate because it is both windy and cold, guests cannot stand the cold.

Chuon Lagoon is a restaurant in the form of a floating bamboo stilt house located on Chuon lagoon , in Phu An commune, Phu Vang District, about 10 km from the center of Hue city. This is the destination recommended by many locals to enjoy fresh seafood dishes, cool off, admire the scenery and enjoy the peaceful space in the countryside of Thua Thien – Hue.

Visitors to the shop need to take the train, you go to the Chuon lagoon market, there will be a signboard to guide you to the pier. A free passenger ship, while traveling while enjoying the view of the lagoon, starling traps, lonely shacks, and fishermen’s livelihood by fishing. The train will take about 10 minutes to arrive.

Whether it’s a small guest or a group of a few dozen people, they are warm and friendly and welcoming. The staff said that the restaurant is only open in the dry season, from January to August, from September to December, Thua Thien Hue rains a lot, the restaurant is located on high, in the middle of Chuon lagoon, the wind blows very coldly, customers do not tolerable so the shop is not operating. Many local customers are used to this, just watching the beautiful weather, they come to the shop to play.

The highlight of the restaurant is a diverse menu of fish, oysters, shrimp, crabs, crabs, squid, oysters, crabs… caught on Chuon lagoon.

Brown fish, grouper, fish, orcas… are suggested fish dishes when coming to Chuon lagoon. In the photo is a brown fish priced at 750,000 VND/kg (processed), each weighing about 150 grams, depending on the number of guests, the restaurant will make the dish just enough or according to the customers’ preferences.

The dish you should not miss is the orca/fish cake. The dish brought to the table is still hot, the crispy dough layer is mixed with harmonious spices, lightly fragrant with the smell of scallions. In the middle of the cake is a tilefish/fish with firm, naturally sweetmeat. Guests eat cakes with raw vegetables dipped in fish sauce.

Steamed brown fish with spinach has sweetmeat, fatty skin and soft fat, rich in seasoning. In addition to steaming, brown fish can also cook porridge.

Guests sit with pillows on the low bamboo table to dine, and eat while enjoying the cool breeze from the Chuon lagoon, admiring the scenery, and feeling the fresh and serene air.
